Rutgers ScarletTM strawberry – fruit in season late May to late June
Plants: Nourse Farms sells dormant strawberry plants in March and April, both commercially and to home gardeners. Order online at https://www.noursefarms.com/product/rutgers_scarlet/. Rutgers Master Gardeners sells plants at Ag Field Day at Rutgers Day – Saturday, April 29, 2017 (usually near the corner of Dudley Rd and College Farm Rd, behind the Marine and Coastal Sciences Building) and at the EARTH Center Plant Sale – Saturday, May 6, 2017.

Scarlet Fire® dogwood tree – in bloom late May to early June
Plants: Central: RareFind Nursery (Jackson) sells retail for home owners late August to early September, but you must call in advance to be added to their waiting list. Good Earth Nursery (Cream Ridge) sells both retail and wholesale during this time period, but quantities are limited, so make sure to call in advance if you are interested. Pleasant Run Nursery fills only wholesale orders for the nursery and landscape industry in August. Call your local nursery as soon as possible to be added to their waiting list.
Spring Hill Nursery (https://www.springhillnursery.com/product/scarlet-fire-dogwood/dogwood_trees) sells Scarlet Fire® by mail order. They should have a large inventory in the spring.

Rutgers Scarlet LettuceTM – for sale as Superleaf lettuce
Vegetable: Rutgers has a semi-exclusive license with Edible Garden Corp, a family run hydroponic business selling Rutgers Scarlet LettuceTM under the brand name Superleaf. Spring mix is available year round, both living and cut. Check your local Kings, ShopRite, or Stop & Shop.
